KK-P1 proto adjustable motor pod

At the moment I'm fiddling with a way to make a motor bracket that can adjustment of motor distance to different pinion sizes.
Using those tiny screw holes is not optimal.

Putting circular 'belt' on the motor with an off center position I can twist the motor in a 'sleeve' and get the right distance.

It will also make it very easy to change to an other motor ( at least one that is smaller ).

Still need to find a good way to secure it. Pt. using a zip-tie and clamming it down.

Is it a good idea ?

Looks like this is working as expected.

I like it!

I have not been content with the 'snap in' function of the rear axle.

The 'posts' where small and fragile and have broken very often.
Nothing to offer to MagRacers.

So I have moved the pinion-side post outside of the crown-gear, this allow for sturdier posts.
And I'm now not snapping it in rather securing the axle with a small screw.

And for the motor-barrel I have added a groove (where possible) for a screwdriver to make it easier to twist when adjusting.

Well thought out Kim. I also find that the motor screws are too small to fit easily and have also been looking at alternatives which might be suitable for limited production. The clamp plate idea seems to work ok for the servo and this idea also seems ok for the motor.

Although I said the motor screws were fiddley, I decided to have another go and am quite pleased with this fabricated (i.e. bonded on) rear axle/motor mount. Drilling the holes and routing from a steel template gives an accurate result and, having tried many adhesives over the years, I finally persevered with 'super glue' and quite amased with the results on the Hip styrene. Just needs a good jig/fixture to hold the components accurately.
I am going back to 3d for the rear wheels. Couldn't get the vac formed ones to grip the axle tight enough.
