I am pleased to report that we at last have new stocks of cars and controllers. Our price list and order form is on line again. Small alterations in prices reflect changes in VAT and currency rates.
During this production break we spent some time investigating new race and radio systems to see if we are still on the right track. The two new race systems can steer the cars from one side of the track to the other but steering a racing line or quick route through each corner would not be possible because human reactions are not good enough. Cars would either turn in too soon or too late giving an unpredictable line through the corner and making the speed impossible to judge properly. There would be no point in steering these cars except to overtake.
Alternative radio systems have also been looked at but frankly we cannot see anything better, or even as good, as the system we have which is testament to our local engineer who developed it.
So we decided to make some small improvements, continue with what we have and work towards expanding the range. Longer wheelbase chassis and cars will be available in the summer. These will be a little more expensive and so the short wheelbase sports cars will continue to be the best value for newcomers to the hobby. The improvements, notably the better rear axle bearings, make this batch of cars the best yet.
