Trackmate sells a lap counter system for MAGracing?

Post by vmibert »

I noticed that Trackmate has a system for sale in the Internet for USD$235.00:

http://www.trackmateracing.com/shop/en/ ... -mag-.html

This is what they claim:

Mag Digital Lap Counter

Lap Counter for MAG Racing Digital System. Glitch free, error free performance.
Supports all 16 IDs. Hardware, sensor cable for two lanes and software included.
Software Windows 98, XP, Vista, Windows 7 compatible
MAC and Linux compatible with free Flipside software.

Has anyone bought this system and used it with their MAGracing setup?

I'd like to know, before I design and build my track.

Thanks!

Let us know if their system does in fact work. I feel it would be best to incorporate this kind of system, at the start of my track design rather than trying to retrofit the track - which may or may not look nice after the modification - and it could impact how the cars drive on the track.

Hi Bert, I have a Trackmate lap counter. It works very well, Luf in Vancouver has one also. I ordered it with two extra sensors so i could count four lanes only because I wanted to do a multilane oval. The sensors were $80.00 extra. I would recommend the system it works well.

Great to hear that! I will have to order one!

It would be really neat if we could have a list of key links and resources in this forum for key "ingredients" of setting up a MagRacing track.

The issue of course would be how to arbitrate what information would to in this "best practices" section of the forum. I'll leave that up to the organizers to think that through.

I just put in an order for a system - might as well - since I haven't built my track, yet.

But now - I can have a lap counter built in!

I plan on taking pictures and videos, as I go along - I can post my progress - might be a while before I get something accomplished - my first order of biz is to install some large hangers and move my 22' extension ladder and hang it from the garage ceiling.
