Re: Availability of cars

Hi Deronny, Wes has been working on NASCAR type bodies this past year. The idea of an adjustable wheelbase chassis in order to fit the longer car bodies may be the "developments" in question. I hope so because modifying the standard chassis to a longer wheelbase is a lot of work. Ken

Re: Problems of MagRacing Outdoors

Yes Ned and Joel, all manner of filth will get on the track outdoors. especially with windy conditions. I bought a 10'x20' portable enclosure with side curtains for about $120. It makes a tremendous difference with keeping the surface clean and dry. I believe its rated up to 35mph winds. In case of ...

Re: Materials, Tools, and Techniques for Outdoor Track

Great looking track Ned. Very interested in how the cars run on that surface. I suspect the running will be almost silent as opposed to plywood or some other hard surface.

Re: Modular tracks

Hello All; My modular motordrome is dangerously close to making a public appearance. The good news is the track has been set up and taken down a half dozen times now with good results. For the past month it has been set up in the back yard under a portable enclosure. We have had a lot of rain here a...

Re: Took the leap

To salledenapoli; I had great results in building a scale "motordrome" that is 5deg. all the way around. This was accomplished using wedges of 3/4 in. particle board cut at exact angle. Spacing the wedges about 8-9 inches apart will give you plenty of rigidity. Be sure to leave an inch or ...

Re: Oval Track Builds Show Them Here

To Vintage 1/24 ; Still looking for 8 drivers to do testing. Garage night still hasn't happened. My invitation is out there. I simply must make a video with 2-3 cars for demo purposes. [ a picture is worth a thousand words ] The track was set up under a portable 20 x 10 enclosure for about 12 days, ...

Re: Oval Track Builds Show Them Here

Good news to report. As many of you know, I have been working on a 1/32 scale 1/4 mile modular motordrome. The track , when assembled is 16 ft long by 8 ft wide. The pit area is at one end and adds 2 ft to the length. I apologize for not sending pictures , so just use your imagination. Loosing my ga...

Re: NASCAR Ovals

Your track looks really good, HOW DID YOUMAKE THE GRANDSTANDS? I made the pit area at the end of my motordrome last week. The grandstands would top it all off. 4 days of good weather soon. 8 cars almost ready. anxious to test. Track has been in storage because of rain. Ken
