Sprint Car body

I asked one of my slot car friends if he had any sprint car bodies. He brought over some plastic hard bodies and one lexan one. I tried it for size and it looks very interesting, I think it might be 1/24 but not sure. Was it Joel that has a vacuum former? If you could leave the chassis stock and mak...

Re: Figure 8?

Thanks for the ideas Keld, your racing line is interesting. When I was thinking about this track I couldn't image where the racing line would go, you could make it so that it was completely separate never touching the other lanes but that doesn't make sense. I wonder how much faster your racing line...

Re: Figure 8?

I have to try the lane change on the ramp, after seeing the cars go around the off camber corner when I was doing the incline tests I think it will work. I agree on the other lane change, but if you to do a racing line where you it go? Just with the two lane changes you have the racing line (you wou...

Re: Skid marks to denote lane changes.

That's a cool idea, I had never thought of distance markers to the corner. That's a great idea! Yeah I was thinking about painting the cars, but I'm having too much fun building the tracks and driving the cars! :tung

Re: Figure 8?

Well I guess I'm on my own with the design. This is what I have come up with so far. Let me know what you think. This is number two in my "Loaner series", I figure that they will be like selling crack. I'll loan out a car or two and a small portable track to some unsuspecting slot car race...

Re: Where to buy battery and charger

Hi All, I took a gamble and bought 3 of this item "4 10440 Battery + AA AAA 14500 Rechargeable Charger US" from greenforcecells on Ebay. All turn out well $11.58 cents each set shipping included, but they did take 3 weeks to get here. I am getting about 1 hour run time, they are labelled a...

Re: Race Line and running Line!

Glad everyone had fun. Thanks for the input. How about the lap timing? The Canadian Trackmate system is well proven in the slot car world, any information? To answer Lasp, I think you are talking about Wes's recommendation to use two parallel wires and then add a racing line. The idea is that if you...

Skid marks to denote lane changes.

A couple of the gents on SCI, suggested to use skid marks for marking lane changes. It works well! I just used a Sharpie felt tip pen to test and I like the results. Paint either brushed or airbrushed would look better. Thanks MrFlippant and racerx for the idea and a reminder. :thumpup

Re: Magracing's appeal to me

What appeals to me is low costs such as a car and a controller for under $120. Tracks can be very inexpensive, with locally bought supplies. Batteries can be had for $12.00 for 4 each 10440 AAA Li-ion with a charger shipping included. And wait until you drive one! The drifts are a gas, you have enou...

Figure 8?

I'd like to build a small figure 8 but I'm not sure how to route the racing line on it. Any ideas?
