Ok.

So a distance from a few mm to 2cm works great.
The most important factor seems to be to have the IR pointing straight up.

I'm going to test how well it will work with RaceID IR facing up and having it register in an overhead 'bridge'. And testing the distance needed. You wil not need to cut in the track and you will be more free to rearange the start/finish line. Or add intermediat time segments. The legs will have roo...

Maybe I should add a servo-operated sving-arm so I can push it sideways to reach all corners etc.

The one in the picture in this post I have abandoned due to the only once configruable issue I found.

It is the ultra small and cheap in the link i'm installing now. I'll make a 2023 post to clarify.

Ok, I'm getting more of these. (Got 25 today.) Putting them in all cars so I don't get any complaints about unfair play. :-) They are incredable at the sub $ 0.4 . They are 1/100 of prices I have payed for other. Shipping fast as well. I have no reason to believe they wil not last long. Grab some !!...

Ok. I have few week spots on my track. But here is a first few laps.




An as you see at startup I even had a better lap in the prevoius heat.
But 10.1 is not bad and sub 10.5 is not that hard.

Nick : Antenna.. I have not given it much of a thought but I have seen it on several other receiver so yes will do ....sometime.

I have done a remake of the front end to accomodate a second size of servo, the 2mm 'fatter' with different top layout (the black).

So the kits wil now come with both options. The servo choosen will determin the 'lid' to use.

Just to brake it. They are the fastest so far. I did a few laps without much tuning, just as the came out of the print. No body yet. I tested both versions with same motor and ESC. I did not have more available ESC's. These are both RE ( rear engine ) versions at 75 mm WB. Going to make a few Peugeo...
