Re: The track surface

Very interesting idea JMR. I had considered using the stuff on the tires but hadn't thought about painting the entire track since I thought it was a bit pricey. Please keep us posted.

Also how easy is it to remove for repairs?

Tire Testing

This past weekend we had opportunity to do some tire testing with masking tape vs vinyl electrical tape, and our conclusion is same as reported by others. Masking offers significant traction improvement to point where a vinyl shod car cannot keep up. Next we added masking to fronts of one car and ag...

Re: Another new guy

Welcome Bryan... My son and I are two more a bit farther away than Joel, just south of Seattle. Although our track is in a private home we would be glad to have you come round if you wish a test drive. Just give us a PM when you might be up in the area. Currently the cars are in route back to Englan...

PacNorthwest Raceway

Here's some more footage from scenic PacNorthwest Raceway put together by kuipo. We've added some additional guardrail and pit complex is awaiting painting and finishing touches. Track is located in my daughter's family room in Covington, WA. Track is built on two 4'x8' partical board w/ slight elev...

Re: the braking

Mike, My understanding is that reverse is activated by moving the throttle trigger forward (see Lasp's post from last Thursday March 14 under Word is Free/ I get a Message). This clearly could be done while underway. At to it's impact on either the controller or the receiver guess we'll have to wait...

Re: Pinewood MAGTrack starts building

Nigel, Great to see you making progress with your track and kudos for track owner like yourself and Keid for being ambassadors of the sport. I believe it's apparent simplicity and relative low entry cost will be what can be its main attraction. While most of the people on this or any slot forum are ...

Re: MAGRACING ... Here to stay!

While I agree that speed is addictive, I always felt the main thing lacking in slots was the Mano a Mano competition. Instead it was much more like an time trial where you went as fast as you could and at the end looked up to see who had the highest lap total. Only on very rare occasions did you exp...

Re: Line change and coil battery consumption.

Eric.... While this is an open forum, I can barely follow your discussion. It appears that you are of the belief that a driver has to steer the car around a corner to follow the wire, thus using up battery power unnecessarily to stay on the track. This is not the case. Additionally, the batteries no...

Re: PacNorthwest Raceway

Yes we have a few more trees and more guardrail to come. Wouldn't want the drivers boycotting our events over unsafe conditions eh. Guardrail was made from 10/2UF electrical wire. Not sure if you have this in europe, but perhaps you have something similar. Each end was folded back around a screw dri...
