Re: Modular tracks
Here's an idea. How about using a product called Dricore. Consists of 1/2" OSB attached to a base of waffled plastic total thickness about 7/8". Comes in 2' x 2' (61cm x 61cm) and has a tongue and groove edge all the way around for easy alignment of sections. A perimeter of 1x2 's could qu...

Re: Modular tracks
Welcome to the forum Dan, always good to have new people interested as this is what it will take to grow the hobby/sport. A thought I have not personally tried it I would be very surprised if the cars ran at all on a modular slot track let alone ran well. Remember the wire being used is .7mm, the si...

Re: Tyres and batteries
I for one am not sure I see the point of rubber tires if I now have to continually replace them, especially without flatted axels and screw down hubs. In fact I see the merit in simply retreading with cheap commonly available supplies such as electrical tape or masking tape. This is especially true ...

Re: Problems with wire and magnetism
Bernd Both Keld and Double Naught give you good advise. Height of the magnet is very critical. Even 1/2 to 1/4 turn of the adjustment screw can make a difference in the handling of the car. If you are still having trouble after trying this, then my guess is that your track surface is too uneven and ...

Yes I was wondering how progress was coming on your new track... Now we know why. It can be quite a disruption to move a business. Will look forward to updates.

Re: TRACK PLAN
Yes Keld, we too had a similar issue with a lane change just after exiting a corner. For the same reason it can be hard to place a lane change in the middle of an esses for example. One thing I feel very strongly about is the need for run off area, where a car leaving the wire does not block the rac...

Re: TRACK PLAN
Agree with JMR, if you leave 1/4" it is not likely that car will shift lane. More likely that a car traveling too fast could leave inside lane and catch the outer wire. I feel that for this reason any lane changes need to be be done while car is traveling straight and the faster the speed at th...

Re: The track surface
Bernd JMR is using this paint to increase traction... Which may or may not be a desirable improvement. This system requires the embedding of a carbon steel rod in the track for the magnet on the bottom of the cars to follow by steering the front wheels in a pre determined path. Simply painting your ...
