Re: 1/24 scale 2.4g Magracing.
My 1/24 cars are running well now and progress is slow but steady. Pic shows my 1/24 Ferrari 312pb. This car was perhaps the shortest wheelbase WSC sports car (about 95mm in 1/24) so if everything fits in there can be no problem. The track rod/steering servo arm magnets are now 4mm dia. and the serv...

Re: 1/24 scale 2.4g Magracing.
Looks good David, I like the steam sound. What we need now is a Ferrari V8 sound! Attached hopefully are pics of my latest 1/24 prototypes. Going to 1/24 has been quite difficult. Not just a question of increasing size by 33%. The mass/weight of the model is more than 33% and I think that the magnet...

Re: 1/24 scale 2.4g Magracing.
Good to see the interest in 1/24 cars. The radio you need Keld is Flysky fs-gt2b, as photo. I just googled this and the cheapest came out at £ 18.99 , around 22 euro. on e-bay. This model will include a rechargeable battery in the controller and the standard 2/3 channel receiver. Be sure to get this...

Re: 1/24 scale 2.4g Magracing.
Hi Ned, The guide magnet is a standard 4mm diam. but the steering arm is longer so this, of course, increases the effect. The wire is 1mm. The track I built last year, after my break from Magracing, had 0.8mm wire. This was ok for 1/32 cars but I struggled with the 1/24 car but I also felt that the ...

Re: 1/24 scale 2.4g Magracing.
I built a 1/24 car last year but somehow it never seemed to go well. Probably I didn't persevere enough as I recently resurrected the car and, with a few mods, I am now quite enjoying it. Certainly the radio gear is much easier to install, as is the CR123 battery and I think that the overall cost co...

Re: Alternative battery?
The CR123 is certainly easily available and I have built several cars using this over the years, there are plenty of pics in my posts but the main problem is with the diameter. For serious racing, sports car bodies are the way to go and, in 1/32, most bodies are too low for this battery so I have go...

Re: Printing wheels.
DSCF0794 (3).jpg Been running 3d wheels for some time. Near car has wheels with separate flexy tyres, something like the Kim's Tpu I would think. Rear car has one piece wheels and tyres, which can also be in flexy material. First flexy tires were hollow but too firm. We are now moving towards taper...

Re: Routing a Magracing track.
Looks good Kim . I use ready mixed skim plaster, comes in a plastic tub. It shrinks as it dries so it needs a 'top up' coat. You do need a good steel straight edge to scrape it flat to the wire. It's worth buying a cheap plastering trowel for this. As I have said before, I regret using board on my l...

Re: Routing a Magracing track.
I think you are making an easy job difficult Kim. Glue the wire down - plaster it level. Job done!

Re: New 1/24 scale track build.
https://youtu.be/Re2sQ3KPWGA Thought I would post a video I made some time ago of my new 2.4g car running on my wider 1/24 track. Considering that I have built many tracks over the last few years, I made a silly mistake with this one. I used 1mm wire but decided to finish it with card but mistakenl...
