Re: Hard bodies with 3" wheelbase
I'd cut it in half and stretch it there. Obviously liberties are taken with many lexan bodied slot cars. A bit of work but probably easier than coming up with a whole new chassis! Might even make an interesting look.

MAGRACING ... Here to stay!
Ok guys, let's open it up and talk about the elephant that's in the room. If any of you did not already have a bunch of money invested in cars and/or tracks, why would you start with slot cars today? I've raced slot cars for varying lengths of time at three different periods in my life, and was arou...

Re: Reverse
WOW !! This truly is a game changer. For sure there may be some circumstances you cannot back out of but they will be rare. Slot car owners will be with envy.

Re: Where to buy battery and charger
Battery I was referencing is a NP-BD1 common to many of Sony small cameras. It is 3.7v 700mAh. They are readily available on eBay and measure 46mm x 35.5mm x 5.3mm thick. A slick little battery package but again requiring a whole new chassis package. I believe the existing package is a lot more soph...

Re: Where to buy battery and charger
I too noticed the voltage and amperage rating for the li-ion battery in my camera was very similar, and it was also flat.... Great for handling and very low to allow other bodies though not necessarially any narrower. Unfortunately it would require a complete redesign of the chassis to relocate the ...

Re: How wide do you wanna go?
Agree w/oldslotracer that we ended up with 4" spacing in corners to allow passing with some drift by inside car. Overall track width at present ended at 8.5-10" with runouts to about 12" in some hairpins. We have tried to leave at least 7" between outside wire and edge of layout ...

Re: How wide do you wanna go?
I fully agree that runoff area is a new but vital concern so other cars are not blocked if possible... And now with the addition of a reverse to minimize marshalling.... Well this could elevate magracing to a whole new level.

How wide do you wanna go?
Here's a thought. Now that Wes has freed us from slots... how wide do we want to make our tracks. We know that with 3.5 inch lane spacing we can easily get two cars by each other with a 7" roadway and we are limited only by the number of friends who want to race! This allows far more track in o...
