Re: Is anybody out there?

DSCF0987 (3) (640x405).jpg DSCF0097 (640x355).jpg Nick, Thanks for your comments and encouragement. I have tried a couple of projects in between Magracing and attach photos - hopefully Kim will forgive me this if I say that neither idea was as interesting or rewarding as Magracing. The cyclekart (a...

Re: Is anybody out there?

Hi Nick, Kim and all, I still have my 1/24 track and 6 or 7 1/24 cars. I got close to being able to manufacture these larger cars, albeit with a lot of hand work. I chose 1/24 because the standard rx could just be fitted in. I intended to have some 'open' days with the track and try to generate some...

Sorry Kim, I only just read your post properly! I thought it was just for lane changing in both directions. I see now that you have thought about lane changing in both directions. Still not sure how well it would work though.

Re: The one do it all straight section. 60 CM for routing.

Since our earlier posts re. lane changes, I have removed all my lane change plates and now have only a gap in the wire. They all work well except that if you turn the wrong way, the car leaves the track. After 7 years, I don't do this very often now but novice drivers may. This was of course the mai...

Re: New owners of Magnetic Racing

Hi Mikael, I suspect that you are correct in thinking it will be 100% buildings now. Low volume car production is a difficult business, as you know. I was hoping that someone with the enthusiasm and necessary money would have taken the system on by now but maybe we just haven't promoted it properly ...

Re: The Magic of Lane Change Plates

Lane change diagram.jpg Re. your earlier post Kim, I have tried many variations of this idea. The simplest is shown in the diagram. The gap between the wires is about 6mm. It works ok but you can get a bit of a wobble as the car goes through. The downside is that, if a novice driver turns the wrong...

Re: Body mounts.

Designing for production is an interesting challenge and I think that, like myself, Kim is enjoying this. I find that 9 out of 10 ideas that I try are not an improvement but occasionally one is, which, if you are going to make hundreds, is a big deal.
Keep working at it Kim!
