Need pinion gear

Post by AlfaRacer »

Help! The pinion gear on one of my cars has split between the splines (along the axis of the motor shaft). This separates the splines such that the large axle gear binds every revolution of the pinion. I need to replace it -
are plastic pinions available, if so can someone point me to where I can buy some.
Would a brass pinion gear be better, if so, how would one press it on the motor shaft?

The diameter of the output shaft of the motor is 1.5 mm. You will need a pinion with the same pitch and number of teeth. Plastic (nylon) would probably be best. I suggest that you send a PM to Wes R who was the original developer and marketer of magracing. Perhaps he has some in stock. His website has been taken down since he is no longer selling new cars.

I had the same problem finding some gears. 1mm and 1.5mm bore gears are very hard to find. However I suggest you look in China (Bangood , Alibababa websites) as they do sell them over there.
