Body mounts.

Using magnets for body mount is a great idea from Wes.

Using 2 magnets pr. mount makes you observe polarity when securing.

I'm using a carbon steel bolt and one magnet D 4x3.6 mm ish. It'is strong enough and add some benefits.
Also putting a collar on the bolt (glued) to give the magnet some slack and makes adjusting height a simple finger twist.
( cutting a straw and gluing also works.)

When gluing the magnet to the body I prepare all at the same time.

Adjust the height + 1 mm.
Put a spice of 'cling' on top of the collar - add the magnet with a drop of epoxy on top.

Put the body on and hold it in place for the epoxy to cure.

When magnets are fixed. Add some more epoxy to secure the magnets.

The front body mount can pivot to adjust for slope of the hood.

Same procedure, just add a small drop of glue to the pivot when the magnet is secured so it is not flexing in use.

Designing for production is an interesting challenge and I think that, like myself, Kim is enjoying this. I find that 9 out of 10 ideas that I try are not an improvement but occasionally one is, which, if you are going to make hundreds, is a big deal.

And what you all know using 3D printing is is very easy to test out ideas. So this is the result.
Printing just a small part to speed up.

Picture is fresh from the print.

Then after removal of support and giving the 'axle' a gentle cleanup and twisting; it is loose.
Working as expected. -->> Will be a part of my production cars.
