Alternate motors.

Post by kiklo »

I have been testing motors for some time to see if we have resources available with similar properties as the Mag1 & 2 motor.
As they are tailormade without (to my knowledge) specification I have had to more or less guess and measure what the motors should be like.

The nearest I have got is the 2 listed.

But the main factor is the RPM at 3.7V given at some sources.

I have found motors with 20-22000RPM are well suited.
And as low as possible current drain.

Max 30-50 mAh at no load full speed are usable.
Stall current 1-1.5 Ah.

A year ago I found this one from Ebay- but have not been able to source it anymore :
FF-M20 DC 3V 3.7V 22000RPM High Speed Micro Mini M20 Motor 1mm Shaft RC DIY
size : 8x10x17mm 1mm shaft

The this summer I found this one. I got some, but of the 4 I got, 2 where used, one I could not spin by fingers. And the where all with very varying internal resistance. So for quality it is not a hit.
It runs, but noisy.

I was only thinking the other day that I should point out that I have hundreds of motors still in stock which I would be pleased to see used. Having used these motors successfully in the 1/24 cars as well as 1/32, I feel that they are perfect for both scales and, if I needed more, I would order the same again.
