KK-CH01-24scale-WB108mmx75mm chassis

Post by kiklo »

This is my first attempt to stretch my ch01 to 1:24 scale.

White parts are new other are the same as the 1:32 scale. Old cars for comparison.

Rear axle is only 55mm needs to be 60-70mm - getting them in a few weeks time.

Will have to test to find the beyyrt layout. But it certainly makes it easier to fit receiver and esc.

And the front end will be made slimmer to allow for minimum turning radius.

I did it as simle as I could.
Just streching it by 1.33 where it was needed and keeping as much as possibles same as the 1:32 parts.
I'll need to lower the magnet on the mag-arm to let it sweep the magwire.

I will get a car riding some 2-3 mm higher,
I'm not sure it matters. Any thaughts ?

I'll just have to rise the axel connection on the chassis if it proves problematic.

I also have some incomming spure gear (T30 for the 1:32) at T36 and T40 to remedie the bigger radius on the wheels. We'll see.

RIDE HIGHT; For my application , 1970s "Stockcars" on a scale 1/4 mile oval, more clearence is desireable.
The original chassis Wes Rayner design could bottom out on certain places on my track, especially
on the infield. sometimes being stranded. The larger dia. wheels of 1/24 scale will be an improvement.
Thanks again Ken

Rideheight are now set to 4.5 mm.

With a movable battery-compartment it wil be easier to tune the car the way you like.

Hopefully these will be the last iteration before I can start test running.

It now has optional battery placement - north/south or east/west.
And one version for rear axle and one for rear motor.
Both versions has the battery left offset to compensate for motor being right offset. It might matter. :-)
