Wes,

We all are looking everywhere for lap counters for your Magracing system, I seen it working on the video can you give us a idea on what you plan to charge for it? Don't want to rush you but others are going elsewhere to get a system.

thanks for your time and sorry to write in you link.

Chris :D

Our lap counter, after 12 months development, is 99% reliable. I am assured
by our electronics boffin that he will get it right! But he's allways busy.
The problem price wise is that production tooling will cost me around $2000, from
my pension fund. We really need to sell a few more cars and get some money
back in or my wife may kill me!
Item cost should not be that great.
You can still have great fun whilst you are waiting. We have raced for 4 years
without a lap counter.

Do we have an update Wes? & will it have sector timing?

Sorry Joel but the situation is much the same as my last post.
We have a new batch of cars ready soon and I am hoping that
our new Targa track will, when ready, help to kick start some
serious sales. We can then think about the lap counter again.
Regards to all

Hey Wes, have you thought about possibly doing a Kickstarter for the lapcounter? (http://www.kickstarter.com/)

It might be a nice way to get a bit of funding for the initial tooling needed. Just an idea, not sure if you've heard about kickstarter before. It's a great service, I've backed a lot of projects on there. Some range from a few thousand to millions. It's also an interesting way to get a bit of publicity, even if your kickstarter fails.

Thanks Nic. I had not heard of Kickstarter. Perhaps it could help Magracing!
What I will do is speak again to our electronics man and see what the lowest price for
a small handbuilt batch could be. If we could then get a few confirmed orders, then perhaps we
could make a start.

Without any indikation of price, I is interested in a lap counting system.
There are som system at the market that could bee easy adapted to MagRacing signals.
Way not ask!

I thought I mentioned Kickstarter in an old email, before you released the system... to get the system out faster.

If for some reason KickStarter does not accept your project, there are lots they do not due to some very strict rules, some that make no sense.
Then try IndieGoGo.com they will accept just about any project. There are even projects up where people say stupid stuff like "I just want money, so send it to me", obviously very few of those get any cash...

Maybe if someone dumps $10K or more in, they can get a custom track pre-built, or you could off load your old test tracks (if any have not been upgraded into current tracks).

Or even use it to produce some sort of new V2 chassis or controllers as stretch goals...

It could be a great way to fund the new bodies and "sell off" cars you have in stock.
You could give a new body that is only available in the funding program for a reward...
