Magnetic Racing Buildings

Post by HeliumFrog »

Our first building has gone up for sale. It's a Race Stewards Hut in 1/32. More buildings to follow in the next few weeks. Cars are still in the pipeline.

How big would it be in 1/24?
Nice looking race track buildings in 1/24 scale are not easy to find.
Do you also plan to make Pit Stop, Lane Garages?

1/24 buildings would be nice to do and once we have got a few buildings done we may try one or two. However I expect the sales to be really low on these items. We do have an interest in doing some cars in this scale, but this is some time off as we really need to get the 1/32 stuff done first. Incidentally I have just completed the radio board design for the cars and am just getting some boards built. Everything else is pretty much sorted.

In 1/24 scale the two buildings we have at the moment would be
Race Stewards Hut 187mm wide x 187mm deep x 208mm high
Reims Gueux Timekeepers Hut 493mm wide x 272mm deep x 239mm high

Pit stop and lane garages are definately on the cards. We have already sketched out a few ideas and this week I purchased a few old scalextric pit buildings from the 1960's (These I wanted for my track!). These classics are out of production and we would like to do a few of those, but improve the build and enhance the detail.

What type do you prefer, the older pit buildings, or the new ones with corporate boxes over the top?

I am into the old ones, I my opinion it is ok to have old houses and race new cars, but not the other way around.
