Hello all

names Scott. How are we all. Im well into rc racing and slot car racing. Done both competitively, more so with rc racing. I currently run an rc and slot car club. It's very possible a new venue that will house model sport in general will have me at the helm! I've known about mag Racing for a little while now but gone no further than just watching a few videos from time to time. With a possible permanent venue on the horizon I may well be interested in supporting a Mag Raceway! I have built custom wood circuits and also build rc tracks weekly so I guess I have a little know how about the basics required for a magnet :).

Im mad as you like and love model racing. Any advise I can give or receive will be great. So how many of you are there and what and where do you race?

hello scotty, you will find answers to your questions here in the forum. here are many freaks ,who tested a lot of materials and different ways of track building. there will be much to explore with this system. your history ( slot and rc car) will help you a lot. try it and i think you will love it. best wishes markus

Hey Rex!

Thanks for the welcome :-)

As above, me/we the North Wales crew are looking into renting a permanent venue for rc racing and slot car, so having known about mag Racing it has come up as a proposal for an additional feature for the possible club. We love fun stuff, it's not All about the speed as such. It's much more about the social and banter we love.

Iv done loads in the model sport arena from club racing to national events in on and off road rc racing. Even taking a national title in the Brca Micro nationals in 2wd off road class back in 2010/11. Since then it's been alot less involvent at competition level and back to grass roots starting clubs up. So far we have North Wales Rc racers and North Wales Slot Car Club. I love the opportunity to meet and race people. More the merrier.

Im hoping maybe we could be a great multi use club for the future. What ever happens I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to give mag Racing a bit of a try and see what we can do with it. Our group is generally young average, say compared to the average age of the slot car world ol :-P. We don't keep with the normal race principles of slot racing, racing in sections and all that. We are much more based like rc racing. We would most likely run mag like it to.

Just awaiting the costings for a new Hall and we will know where we sit :). What's every one else up too? What are the new type chassis like?

Is there a self build kit form? And hop ups loL

Hi Scott,

I'm in the middle of a track build at present. I am deliberately building in a modular fashion so I can take it to alternative venues, and also possibly to extend it as well. I have a small group interested, all in competitive racing. Its many years since I slot raced, but I have run many competitive events (wargames) around the UK for several years. Looking forward to setting up some form of UK championship when I've found others with this interest. Sounds to me that we should get together at some time to see if we have similar ideas. After all North Wales to North Notts isn't that far! :)

Lol great idea Trevor maybe, not far eh, only a few thousand slot car hours away haha (not true to scale).

nationals you say :) maybe in the future. Looking bright for us, we have looked around a potential venue this week and the price is right to make it a model sport arena. Rc,slot and mag. Exciting times. It's still a little hush hush but hope for the best eh. If we do the modular build we could make it huge! And it's a permanent venue for us 24-7. National 2day weekend perhaps lol or the first world's event haha.
