Re: Light Weight, Large, Portable, Sectional, Track
To lock the track mats together in my concept, I have a lower piece cut in a sort of zigzag pattern. It would then use magnets... alignment may be tricky this way, I can get away with it because of the CNC cutting. It is pretty much what Anki did on their new modular track system. see anki over driv...

Re: Light Weight, Large, Portable, Sectional, Track
While I have not actually built this track yet, the following are ideas and concepts for building one. The previous design was to use Foamular, and manually cut everything. I recently discovered another type of foamboard used to make signs, I could stand on it, and there was minimal damage, yet it h...

Re: Light Weight, Large, Portable, Sectional, Track
That is the purpose of my track thread... more so even with my most recent posts. http://www.magracingforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=187&start=20 I am trying to have it CNC cut in foam board so I can actually make more than one of them... and sell them off or something. But no one seems to wa...

Re: SCR Track Concept
More than likely I will not actually put the lane changes in the pit stalls... I will just use them to leave a ready-to-go car waiting for something to pick up the controller. I do not have any changes in the curves... got rid of that hope a long time ago. This track will be built as it is suppose t...

Re: SCR Track Concept
So I have been hacking at my line drawings of my track concepts again. While I have uploaded images of a few tracks in this thread, there was likely another 2 or 3 before and between each of the ones I posted... This version is more simple in some areas, and more complex in others... I always intend...

Re: Magracing - where now?
There appear to be LOTS of these cells available... Even by name brands. This is 3V http://www.amazon.com/DL123A-Duracell-Ultra-Lithium-Batteries-CR123A/dp/B002IGW15G/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1418800097&sr=8-1&keywords=cr123+batteries+lithium WES, are you redesigning any of the chassis? I ...

Re: Problems of MagRacing Outdoors
The wire will likely need to be soldered... If the dust is magnetic, maybe you will need a custom track cleaning car to do a few laps each time before you race on the track. Customize a cheap RC car, or mag-racer with a push brush and a super strong magnetic in the nose to clean the track surface. T...
