Re: track building

I suggest that you make your own. They are easy and cheap to make. All you need is the steel plate material and tin snips to cut the plates. Just make sure they are completely flat with uniform thickness and no rough & jagged edges. Before making them, read all of the post on the magic of lane c...

Try to buy some used cars or build them from kits.

Re: 1/24 scale 2.4g Magracing.

I always hoped that I could convert my 1/24 slotcars, so I will follow your progress. But I read that there was no brake on the new board from Heliumsfrog, that is essential if driving 1/24 they are heavyer than 1/32 Don’t worry about brakes Keld. A car built with a board sold by Magentice Racing (...

Re: Three Chassis with Different Transmitters and Electronic

The Magnetic Racing board doesn't have braking at all, so I am guessing the motor generates back emf or something which slows the motor down more quickly and feels like braking...The board also has "Cruise control" on channel 3 which may be of use to some people. . Martin, you may not hav...

Three Chassis with Different Transmitters and Electronics

Below is a pic of 3 chassis. The chassis on the left is one of the original chassis with a proprietary transmitter and electronics offered by Wes. The 2 white chassis were made using a kit that I designed and call CK8. The one in the middle is a newer version of CK8 but not the newest. I haven’t bui...

Re: 1/24 scale 2.4g Magracing.

One downside with outdoor tracks I can see is the potential to rust the guide wire. Nickel wire however doesn't rust and is slightly more magnetic and more ductile so is easier to lay... The slightly larger cars would also cope better with any dust or debris. I am aslo expecting a slightly thicker ...

Re: 1/24 scale 2.4g Magracing.

Could 1/8 steel braid not be used in Mag racing ? as I know I could then offer pre-fab track including straights, corners etc ! Just thinking out loud ! I suspect that 1/8" wide steel braid would work if : 1. the frontend of the car has a little toe in, a little negative camber, and the steeri...

Re: Lane Change Plates for Cars with Front Mounted Servos

Thanks for the feedback Wes. I had adjusted the trim and rate/throw controls on my tx/controller so that the car would track straight without any steering input and with the rotation of the servo arm left and right set to maximum. Your comment got me thinking. What if I adjusted the trim so that it ...

Lane Change Plates for Cars with Front Mounted Servos

I continue to believe that properly designed, produced, and installed plates will provide more reliable and consistent lane changes for experienced as well as newbie racers at any speed, compared to any lane change design relying only on wire. I also continue to believe that the best width of a plat...
