Re: the right stuff to get started
I would order the the lane changing plates when you order your cars and controllers. Everything else but the batteries and chargers can be sourced locally. Wes sells the wire too, but I couldn't see having a staple like that shipped across an ocean and a continent when it can be bought at any weldin...

Nothing going on here with magsteer. I am involved in a major project with my G scale model railroading club and am contemplating a remodel project on my slot car track next spring. Magsteer is third in line.

Lasp, Didn't Luf say that Daniel Groux of Trackmate in BC Canada built a timing system for him and said he could build more of them for others? As I recall, there even was a price quote. If so, you can purchase the timing system that you want right now. I suggest that you go back and review Luf's po...

Re: New guy from indy
Welcome Sir, I think you will find that this list is a little slow right now. Hopefully it will pick up with the change of seasons. This is a small group so a little bit of silence sounds like a roar. I am an old Artin track owner as well though all of mine has been boxed up for some time due to the...

Re: Something to try as Tire Tape?
I am dubious. It looks far too thick to me and the texture looks too bumpy. You really don't want to increase grip by very much with these cars. The experience will become like driving slot cars with magnets. Better to let them slip around a little bit. Too much grip in the rear will lead to an unde...

Re: My third track
1/32 slot racers have been spoiled by the detail that they have enjoyed for the last dozen years or so. I must admit that I have the urge for more detail as well. I will go back to trying to fit Wes's electronics in a more scale detailed package package over the winter. I am in summer mode right now...

I could get behind that Corvette is it were a clear shell and it were reasonably proportional.

Re: Another interesting non-slot car project...
I think this is less a serious product now than a demonstration of things to come. It is not unlike the Pong game of robotics. Rather than a little race track that four cars circumvent, this technology portends consumer robots in the very near future that can operate autonomously in the home or busi...

Re: Crossing Angles and a few other questions.
May I suggest that whatever scenic fixture that you decide to place close to the track be free standing. That way you can adjust the distance until it is correct.
