This car is probably slightly faster due to the brake though I have to say that the cars without the brake are smoother to drive.

Re: 1/24 scale overview.

DSCF1047 (2) (640x453).jpg Further to my report of a motor coming loose during recent testing, I rebuilt the car (which uses the magnetic racing board), initially using a new vacuum formed chassis with a motor plate grafted on which had the holes for the 3mm screws in the end face of the motor. As ...

Re: 1/24 scale overview.

Sorry Kim, I don't have any scales suitable for such light weights at present. We did manage to beat the lockdown for a short time today as son Scott and grand daughter Anna came for a practice session and we managed over 90 laps with some cars. A good half hour, each on one battery and still going ...

Track and cars all ready to race. What's the problem? Covid 19 of course!
Been driving two cars today - one with each hand!

Pic. shows the inclined end of the back straight. I also took the opportunity of extending the run off area right up to the room wall. More 'off track' space is always welcome!

Re: Where is my brake?

Thank you both, just been trying all possibilities again but no success. When a car is run and the trigger moved forward, it just locks up the rear wheels. I have tried every position of the trim but no difference. I think now that the brake is built in but is not effective enough. It's not possible...

Where is my brake?

I now have several cars fitted with a Das Mikro 1s bidirectional brushed esc with break (I assume this means 'brake'!)
These work very well but I don't know how to get the brake to work.
The wiring diagram is attached. Maybe Kim would understand it?

Re: KK-P1 proto up and running

Very interesting Kim, and certainly very colourful! Haven't tried linear servos myself yet. There is still room for improvement with Magracing and I too spend a lot of time trying out new ideas. Usually they are no better. But just occasionally, like today, I made a small improvement! I guess you su...

Re: Lapcounter progress

Tried the lapcounter today first time this year. Cars are going faster now but, after a few tweaks, it worked well' What I do miss however, for testing cars, is a lap timing facility. Can anyone (Kim?) suggest a simple timer, operating from the reed switch signal. Just one lap would be ok. DSCF1025 ...
