Re: Differentials?
I have several times tried removing the front centre magnet to reduce the stiffness added to the chassis by this method of body fixing, most successful being the use of a horizontal pin at the front of the chassis. This does need more care when removing the body however and, since adding the front s...

Re: MagRacing in public vs Slot vs RC
In my experience Kim, Magracing appears to most people to be a slower form of slot racing on a track which doesn't have any slots. The greater driving skills needed seem to frustrate many people who expect to pick up the controller for the first time and race and beat their friends without spending ...

Re: Steering theory...
I spent many hours working on r/c operated lane changing for slot racing. The one unsolvable problem was that no matter how sharp a point you have in the track frog, where the slots join, and no matter how sharp a point you have on the car steering flag, on some occasion these two will collide head ...

Re: Front axles.
All my cars now have 2mm screw front axles. Not great engineering practice but some cars have done hundreds of laps and I can't notice much wear in the wheels. I use 2mm pozi pan head machine screws, much cheaper than cap screws (£3.29 per 100 on e bay). An alternative is to fix the axles (screws) o...

Re: Alternate motors.
I was only thinking the other day that I should point out that I have hundreds of motors still in stock which I would be pleased to see used. Having used these motors successfully in the 1/24 cars as well as 1/32, I feel that they are perfect for both scales and, if I needed more, I would order the ...

Re: ESCs and experiences.
Re. voltage to motor, I have no original 868mhz cars still running so cannot directly compare them but I have certainly not noticed that my 2.4mhz cars are any slower. I have cars with Das Micro escs, K012R escs, and the Magnetic board and it's difficult to say which is the faster on the track. I su...

Re: THE MagRacing receiver/esc.
I did not realise that you were making rx/esc boards Kim. I wish you every success with this. Just one comment with braking, I finally got around to swapping the motor leads round, as Nick's suggestion, and have of course found my missing brake! I found that having to move the trigger forward was no...

Re: Guide-magnets tweaks.
My move to 1/24 scale has also meant that the magnets need to be changed. As Kim knows, there are no rules for this. As we are also using magnets between the servo and the track arm, this is also variable. A assumed that the guide arm would be 33% longer but the original 1/32 one works just as well!...

Re: ESCs and experiences.
I have had 2 cars running very well with the 'Das Micro 1s' board, which Ned mentions, for some time. Still haven't found the brake though! When you move the trigger forward, the motor goes straight into reverse. I don't think a brake is too important however, certainly not as important as reverse. ...

Re: KK-P1 proto adjustable motor pod
Well thought out Kim. I also find that the motor screws are too small to fit easily and have also been looking at alternatives which might be suitable for limited production. The clamp plate idea seems to work ok for the servo and this idea also seems ok for the motor. DSCF1060 (640x478) (2).jpg DSC...
